How We Work

We are a Singapore-headquartered animation studio working with makers across Southeast Asia. We turn distributed talent into a cohesive storytelling and production powerhouse.

Why “Collective”?

For partner studios, the struggles are finding the right people, briefing them properly and managing creatives, sometimes across countries. And for creatives, many work remotely, project to project - some are brought into productions only for isolated tasks with little context on the full picture, resulting with work that looks disjointed.

ROUGE was built to make that setup better - giving animation creatives in Southeast Asia healthier ways to work and giving partners access to flexible regional production capacity without having to build and manage that whole network themselves.

We care about distributed creative work that is connected, not silo-ed. When creatives understand where their contribution sits in the full production, they can respond with more thought. We pay attention to what happens behind each project. This supports the wider standards we care about as a studio, including our B Corp certification, Company of Good recognition and fair freelancer procurement practices.

So you have a capacity gap

Some teams come together for a short production. Others stay together for months or years. For our partner studios, that means one Singapore studio relationship instead of multiple overseas freelancers or a fixed bench waiting to be used.

For your creative lead, it means one briefing call instead of 10 individual freelancer catchups. 

For your producer, it means one production partner and transparent pipeline setup. Your spend goes toward a production setup that reduces coordination, admin, handover risk, and quality drift.

Your main contract relationship stays with ROUGE Collective Singapore. We manage the maker agreements and payments underneath that, with a clearer line of accountability for the final delivery.

All makers working on our productions are bound by confidentiality and IP provisions. Project files and communication are managed centrally, with access limited to project members only. As we take on larger and more sensitive productions, we also strengthen these into a more formal content security framework, covering areas such as account access, device requirements, file storage, offboarding, backups and the use of third-party tools.
